Hip-Hop Digital Catches Up With New Comer GhostWryter

Born and raised in Thibodaux, La.  Neverbasic GhostWryter is a lyrical force to be reckoned with and how he got into the hip hop game is just as interesting as his lyrics.
His music is “never basic” meaning everything written is based on his life, music that’s real. NeverBasic  is continuing  to record music and is currently working on the release of his highly anticipated EP.

Hip-Hop Digital: How did you come up with the name GhostWryter?

GhostWryter: I chose the name because I feel like no other artist can see my writing skills. Also, I’m not here for the spot light. I genuinely LOVE MUSIC. So as long as the fans enjoy the music I can’t careless if I’m front page, & remain a “Ghost”.

Hip-Hop Digital: Collectively, how long have you been doing music?

GhostWryter: I started at the age of 13. Its been 12 years now.

Hip-Hip Digital:  Who or what inspired you to start rapping?

GhostWryter: After being suspended from school at the age of 13 for a fistfight with a fellow student and hitting the teacher that attempted to break up the fight. That same day I got home, my cousin was next door on the computer rapping, & at the time we knew nothing about producing music or what bounce meant. I wanted to just get a few issues off my chest, so my first recording was on a computer monitor microphone, with me holding the speaker to the mic so it could pick up the beat & vocals at the same time. No headphones or anything. Needless to say, the sound quality was very poor, but hey that’s when I fell in-love with hip-hop.

Hip-Hop Digital: What mainstream artists do you like to listen to? Why?

GhostWryter: None. I think right now the music industry has a lot of clones. Artist not really being themselves, like being original is not cool anymore. All followers NO leader.

Hip-Hop Digital: Are you working on any new projects right now? If so tell us about it.

GhostWryter: Currently I’m writing 2 songs per day. As of now there at least a couple hundred songs written & ready to be shown to the world at any given time. So yall always stay tune, you don’t want to miss any music soon to release.

Hip-Hop Digital: If you could do a collaboration with any 2 artists who would it be?

GhostWryter: Chris Brown & Joe Budden are really the only two artist I would love to work with.

Hip-Hop Digital: Out of all the songs you recorded, which song is your favorite. Tell us how you came up with the song.

GhostWryter: Most of all, I would have to say, “Keeping it G”. Which hasn’t released yet. The song is really down to earth like, laid back, jazzy type vibe. Really was effortless to write. The track was produced by GussMakeMyBeats. Which was a track that was just being made as I walked in the room, it all just really came together like magic.

Hip-Hop Digital:  Anything you’d like to say to your fans, supporters?
GhostWryter: I’m feeling really loved right now and I appreciate all the support that helped me earn my place in the music world . I want to thank all the fans that purchased “Anti-Social ft. Max Minelli”, especially the people from my hometown of Thibodaux. I also want to give thanks to the Never Basic organization that did a great job promoting me, and most of all I want to thank my family and close friend for helping me push for greatness.
