You may or may not be familiar with this young lady but she is fresh off the Machine Gun Kelly Lace Up tour and ready to release her upcoming album with Mahoning Valley Records. Rising female Urban Pop artist Bella Nae spoke with us at Hip-Hop Digital to fill us in on who she is and what she is currently up to!
Hip-Hop Digital: Thanks for taking the time out to speak with us here at Hip-Hop Digital. How is life treating you?
Bella Nae: You’re welcome! Life is treating me very well, I’m working hard and making people believers everyday!
Hip-Hop Digital: Recently you’ve released a few projects including your debut EP, H.I.G.H XOXO on iTunes. What track is most personal to you and how so?
Bella Nae: All the tracks on H.I.G.H. XOXO, the EP are all personal because they all came from real experiences, if not me directly some one that’s close to me! No Tears is definitely a women’s anthem (laughing). So, I had to do that for my dolls.
Hip-Hop Digital: Currently you’ve been touring with Machine Gun Kelly and the EST 19XX crew. How has the experience been? What insight has this tour given you on the music industry?
Bella Nae: Being a part of the Lace Up Tour has been so amazing! People always say something is easier said then done so for me touring has allowed me to see all the handwork, heart, dedication that’s put into having a successful show every night!
Hip-Hop Digital: You’ve worked with a lot of artists so far, who have you had the best experience with? Who else are you planning to work with in the upcoming future?
Bella Nae: Each experience with each artist is different and they have all been great, so I can’t just pick one like…. but in the future I would like to work with Jay Z, Pharrell, Neyo, Timberland, Justin Timberlake, Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, Kelly Rowland, like everybody (laughing) you name it, Maroon 5, so many I can’t name them all!
Hip-Hop Digital: In an earlier interview you once referred to yourself as an “urban pop artist”. Can you elaborate on your definition of an urban pop artist?
Bella Nae: My definition of an urban pop artist is exactly what I do, pop, r&b, & rap music, but it’s the way I deliver it that makes it what it is! (laughing)
Hip-Hop Digital: As an up and coming artist what is something everyone should know about Bella Nae the artist? What do you want people to take from your music?
Bella Nae: I want everyone to know that I’m real, what you see and hear is who I am every day no filters! I want the listeners/ supporters/ fans, to take whatever they want to take from the music I put out! I can’t dictate or tell someone when they listen to this certain song they are suppose to feel this certain way. Art is art and different things to different people.
Hip-Hop Digital: Who are some of your early influences and role models?
Bella Nae: I listen to a lot of rap, r&b, hip hop, and oldies growing up so earlier influences were Minnie Ripperton, Marvin Gaye, Stylistics, Dramatics, Dog Pound, Dr. Dre, DMX, Snoop Dogg, 2pac, Biggie, Dj Quick, Faith Evans, Mary J, Digital Underground and After 7. Really I could go on and on. (laughing)
Hip-Hop Digital: Are there any upcoming projects we should be on the lookout for?
Bella Nae: You should definitely be on the lookout for my album dropping during the 3rd quarter!
Hip-Hop Digital: Once again thank you for taking your time out to speak with us. Before we let you go, where is the best place for fans and supporters to keep up with you?
